AM Dress rehearsal this morning. I dropped my car off at worthen park and laurie took me up the course 3.5 miles. I wore and did everything that I am going to wear and do on saturday. I know it seems a little crazy or over the top, but I have been trying to get this thing for 16 months, and I want to prepare every way I can. I wanted to hit the 7:25 per mile mark all the way through, but I was still a little fast even though I was trying to back off. This helps me remember pacing, so I don't go out too fast. I was around 7:15 for 1st, and then I purposely backed off more and dropped down to 7:09 and 7:11 for the next 2. I gotta pace right! My left shin is still a little tender, but other than that I am feeling really good and also confident. It is time to put it on the line. |
