AM a beautiful day to race.  Kire, Laura Dalton and I left at 6:30 so we could pick up our packets, etc.  We met mom, dad, and sisalee at the library and rode up together.

Met Brady and Meg at start line.  We were there quite early as it turned out, but it was such a nice morning and the canyon was so pretty that I didn't mind at all.

I wanted to go out with Brady, but he hit 5:20 1st mile, so that wasn't going to work for me.  I held my pace through the first 3 okay but the hill on mile 4 ate me up a little bit.  I just stayed relaxed up the hill and tried to keep the 1st place girl in my sights.  I hung on through the hilss in mile 5, and then ran quite well the last mile.  The 2nd place girl got me with 100 yards left, but I didn't have enought to hold here off.  I think if I would have held back just a bit on the 1st 2 miles, I may have a better time.  Overall-I was quite happy, because I wanted sub-40 and got it.  The course was quite tough and I think I would be around 38 flat on USG 10K course.
Kire went 23:14 and won the 5K overall, but the race timers decided to give the trophy to the winning adult.  WHAT?!  Dummies! I will have to buy him a trophy now.  He did awesome.

Laura won the 5k Girls race.  She is such a good kid.

Brady took 3rd overall and went just under 37:00.  He is getting better and better.
