What a beautiful race day.  I got up at 4:45 AM and took off for Cedar City.  I got there early enough to do a few 200s at race pace, and then we boarded the bus for the canyon.  It was really cool and we had a little tail wind at the beginning of the race.  There was not a clud in the sky and the moon was still out.  I went out with the first group, but there were 3 that pulled away at the first mile.  The rest of us just strung out over 200 yards down through the canyon.  I backed off @ mile 3 because I wasn't sure I could hold +/-6:00 a mile through the race.  Mile three was the slowest of the race at 6:38.  I started to feel it around mile 4 1/2.  The guy from cedar that pased me at mile 4.5 during the "run 4 kids" passed me at the same place, but I didn't think I could hang with him this time, so I let him go.  Interestingly, he didn't pull away and he actually brought me within striking distance of two other runners by the end of the race.  I got both of them by the end, but the younger one passed me again at the 6 mile mark.  I had a good race, and it was a fast course.  I will want to do that one again next year.

Great job. That's some serious good running.
